Want To Boost Your Longevity? Eat Foods That Fight Aging!

Everyone, everyday, is growing older, and at the same rate. But our bodies aren't necessarily aging at the same rate, and they don't have to. We can, with a few simple lifestyle choices, boost our own longevity, beginning by eating foods that fight aging, and avoiding foods that promote premature aging.

What are Anti-Aging Foods?

Before we talk about the foods we should be eating, there is one category of foods we need to stay away from:

Avoid Fried Foods:

Fried foods decrease your life expectancy by causing diabetes, cardiovascular disease and obesity. A recent study of over 100,000 women and published in The BMJ, concludes that women who have at least one serving of fried foods every day have an 8% chance of dying early, specifically of cardiovascular disease.

One of the biggest fried food culprits is the "Fast Food Joint". In today's busy world, when you're too tired or busy to cook it's just too easy to run to a burger place and get something quick to eat, and it's usually fried, with fried chicken and fried fish being two of the worst choices. The nice thing is, when life just feels too crazy, you don't need to stop frequenting your favorite place, simply make a better selection from their menu, such as a salad or grilled food.

And now let's talk about the foods that promote anti-aging...

Choose fish!

As long as you don't choose fried fish, eating fish can improve your odds of a longer life...and along with that, add fish oil (omega-3 fatty acid supplements)  to your diet. Researchers have found that if you include fish and fish oil in your diet at least 3 times a week, you will have 35% less chance of dying from heart disease.

Eating more seafood can help you thrive rather than just survive...these are the choices that will give you the most benefit:

  • Salmon
  • Sardines
  • Mackerel
  • Herring
  • Tuna

Choose a Plant-Based Diet:

Your chances of living longer increases when your diet consists mostly of fruits and vegetables. Eating fruits and vegetables high in fiber is a great way to:
